New Zealand Gun Confiscations Had No Impact On Violent Crime

A new report by Radio New Zealand shows that even after the government’s ban and compensated confiscation of tens of thousands of semi-automatic firearms, “gun crime hit a new peak” in the country last year.
Only a complete moron would think otherwise! All about people control, not crime!

With Comrade Ardern in control NZ is FUBAR.
As there is no strong voice for the rights of the shooting community in the UK we will be subject to further regulation and confiscation.
I'm certain within my lifetime civilian ownership will be prohibited.
The good times are in the distant past.

There is so much bad legislation coming we hardly know where to turn.
• The Climate Commission’s central plan to fundamentally transform New Zealand will have disastrous implications;
• Labour’s hate speech crackdown is coming, with legislation to be introduced to Parliament later this year;
• The Government is signalling further attempts to punish law-abiding firearms owners; and
• Small businesses are being hit from every angle, with more sick leave, more public holidays and a higher minimum wage.
FUBAR describes it pretty well.

Don't be foolish, the UK government will always trust the UK shooter....
with a .22rf single shot bolt action target rifle; no telescopic sights though, that would turn it into a helicopter killer sniper rifle!

Sadly you are correct. Your rights in the UK are being destroyed at an alarming rate and the last thing they want - and the thing they fear most - are armed citizens. The day will come - and sadly I think it's not far way!
if you look at it, this latest crap is all about what you MIGHT do - not what ACTUALLy happened. Pretty much guilty until you prove otherwise. By their logic we should ban police because one might kill a girl or protect grooming gangs...oh wait a minute...
I read now that MORE restrictions are coming with regards protests - in short, you'e going to be screwed. There will be virtually NO way to protest without falling foul of the "law" - a BAD law at that. But of course under the great God called Convid, everything must be sacrificed!
Given the recent events with a police firearms officer, it's high time they were banned from being near guns...how can they be trusted.
The Scottish Nasty Party already has a "Hate Speech" law on the books - and in true fashio you will soon be getting your doors kicked in for insulting a politician - or people like Pritti Useless or Crestofa Dick!
The REALLY worrying thing is that people actually WANT this! Just remember: What you allow WILL continue. NONE of these oppression laws will be repealed - EVER!

For sure.
In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and more dystopian regulations.

For all those complete colons who think only the police and military should have guns: THIS
Calls For Self-Defense In Myanmar As Military Murders Continue
https://bearingarms.com/camedwards/2021 ... nue-n42137
The wanton murders of protesters at the hands of the military in Myanmar continued over the weekend, with dozens of casualties reported across the country. The United Nations reported on Monday that at least 138 civilians have been reported killed by the military since it seized power last month, and on Sunday the acting head of the nation’s civilian government that was ousted in the military coup announced plans to change the country’s law and empower citizens to act in self-defense.
Even before the military coup, there was a push underway to reform the gun laws in Myanmar, as the website Frontier Myanmar reported in 2018.
“There is a need to enact a new law or draft a policy which guarantees that citizens have the right to self-protection,” said lawyer U Khin Zaw (Mayangone), adding that citizens would otherwise be unable to prevent themselves from becoming victims of serious crimes, such as armed robbery, banditry and kidnapping.
And here you are in the UK, punished for what you MIGHT do, even though the reasons are totally bogus!

Well said!!!
BTW, I love your signature. And it is true too. That would be one hell of an algorithm to make AI to beat Stupidity.
This is nothing new under the sun. If New Zealand Gov would have asked us, former Soviet Communism Countries citizens - aka Eastern Block - we would have told them that this is the case for the last 50 years. And trust me, the communist regime really had it at us considering that 1 in 3 citizen was an informant.
And UK is next on the list....
Just saying...

Here's the latest in disturbing police activity and inactivity.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1v2F_Yi ... annel4News
The behavior of this young thug in uniform after an evening on the p*** is shocking enough. But the fact that his own force and the CPS tried to blow off prosecution "for insufficient evidence" when it was filmed in all its sickening horror beggars belief. The sentence was a joke and an insult to the victim and public.

I don't know who I mistrust / fear the most these days, our current crop of coppers or the government. This country is so f*** unless we have a bloody good clear-out of our police and legislation.

Dark Skies;
I don't know who I mistrust / fear the most these days, our current crop of coppers or the government. This country is so f*** unless we have a bloody good clear-out of our police and legislation.
The answer is NEITHER. One is an out of control shower of thugs and bullies, the other - well....The Gov sorry regime, are blatant hypocrites and liars, only delusional mentally unbalanced fools believe a word they say - especially right now.
The police are now enforcing dogma even more than before and selective (or BIASED multi tier) policing has lost the police a LOT if not most respect. They are quick to jump on OAP's and cripples etc but keeched themselves over Asian grooming gangs etc - for YEARS! Easier to blame the victims in case the criminals got upset - SERIOUSLY!

Victim blaming is a familiar tactic in some 3rd world sh -holes -..oh wait we're nealy there already! Why else are they dragging some poor git out their bed at 3 am because he broke some covid rules - that's straight oout of the KGB / Gestapo playbook!
I had to laugh at one retired poilcemant posting a comment that "it's the few who are the problem and unfair all police are tarred with with the same brush".

Well suck it up moron, because that is EXACTLY what you do every time you punish law abiding people for the actions of some nutter you were WARNED about - or has happened recently with the latest elctro mechanical tool grab , IN CASE they do something!
That sort of thinking needs nipping in the bud - and FAST! Maybe we should ban the police in case they shoot an innocent unarmed person carrying a table leg, or a fellow officer in training with an unloaded revolver, use their training to assault a member of the public or kidnap and murder a young girl - oooops too late in all cases eh!
