Am I correct in assuming Clymer go and no go gauges in 6.5x55 Swedish and 6.5 Creedmoor will be SAMMI spec.

Why would that concern you?

Its not a concern I want to check a 6.5x55 and my gauges are Clymer just wanted to check if they are SAMMI its a Shilen barrel.

The gauges should have come with documentation regarding their calibration.

I don't remember seeing any documentation.

I gauged the rifle using the Clymer 6.5x55 gauges using the GO gauge the bolt closes with thumb pressure it doesn't drop its just a gentle easing down on the bolt. The NO GO gauge doesn't go the bolt does not close on it.
So that's sorted.
The next step in the process is to check and trim to length a new 6.5x55 unfired full length sized case then drill a hole in the head of the case and tap it to suit a Shooting Shed over all length gauge.
I will then check the cartridge over all length using:
139 grain Lapau Scenars.
120 grain Hornady a max.
This will tell me if I need to use the throating reamer or not.

( Notice I state that I am going to drill a hole in the head of the case. This is one of the reasons you should never refer to a bullet as a bullet head because there is no such thing as a bullet head. They are bullets full stop.)
