A bit of a dilemma

Hello all,
I have a bit of a dilemma. I would like to be upgrade my main shooting stick (a Winchester M70 Stealth II) but dont know which way to go.
I shoot mainly for fun on military ranges out to 600 and occasionally out to 1000 at Barton Road, but it would be good to shoot in club/regional comps once in a while. I have done various mods to the M70 myself inculding a full bedding job, fitting a Timney trigger, fitting a Karsten cheek piece and making my own adjustable butt plate.

The top one!
The rifle shoots nicely now but will, in its standard guise, never be a tack driver, plus the barrel is now showing signs of wear.
Now the crunch. In the quest for a bit more accuracy and consistancy do I:
A. Re barrel-looking at a 30" Archer, and mod the stock as per http://www.targetsportsmagazine.com/fea ... -sows-ear/
B. Save up and buy a good s/h target rifle, or a good s/h TRG22 (as I have always quiet fancied one!)
Money is an issue so a full blown F/TR rig with Nightforce/ Sightron/ S&B is not an option atm.
The M70 was my first rifle so I am sort of attached to it and would like it to stay somewhere in the cabinet
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The TruFlite barrels give good accuracy at a reasonable price. I use them amongst others and have had some very good results from them in the past.

Ah!....is that Mr. Sanselm of Osprey rifles? I think I shall be sending him an email :good:
Thanks for the info.
In your opinion, do you think that this would be on a par, accuracy wise, to the TRG22 or are there too many variables to make the comparison.

Yes Stuart at Osprey.

The TRG 21 and later 22 is a robust well made rifle that delivers superb accuracy, possibly more so than the M70 however they are expensive, if you found a second hand one you would need to think about a new barrel at some point and you know your Winchester.

I have a Broughton 5C which is excellent, so also worth a look (also from Osprey). Definitely rebarrel though.
