I know if you have a bitch dog that their wee kills the grass of your lawn would any one know if the same is true of a vixen ? In the last couple of days I have noticed dead patches of grass for no obvious reason , I know foxes do come into the garden so could this be the cause ?
Any other ideas any one .

Got the same problem here - white/yellow patches 6" to a foot in diameter.

My old man recons it's fox pee - but I did notice that some of them are full of ants...so still trying to work out the connection/culprit...?

"mmmm", indeed...may have to did one up to investigate...

I've also go something trying to burrow under the concrete shed base - it looks too big for a rat, but too small for a fox (?).....can't beat a bit of intrigue in the garden ;)

Thankfully we only get you buggers one or two weeks of the year - usually late April/Early May, when the chaffer and stag beetle grubs are ripe and juicy....why can't you fill the holes back in after! ****

Yup, fox p*** will kill grass. If you don't want to trap or kill the fox, you can either get a loan of a large male dog (bitch won't do) and have him p*** all around your fence or where you think it's entering. Alternately you can do the p*** yourself.

I have just had a close look at the grass and it is ants that are the problem , so have powdered the lawn with Nippon , did find 1 fox poo though .

Had a look at the lawn (well, the approximately green and flat area) again, and although there are a lot of ants in the dead patches, there are also a few ant nests where the grass is fine - It could be that some ants (there's a few different species in the garden) are attracted to the patches, as opposed to causing the patches...?

I have also seen the foxes p*** on the lawn before...so I recon it is the foxes...
