If it's not reloadable will it take off?
If it's not biodegradable will the 'greenies' kick up a stink about it?
If you can't reload it and it doesn't break down, can you recycle them?
Because of the lower metallic content, will we start to hear scare stories about it, like when Glock pistols arrived?
Then again, if it works and it is commercially viable, how long before the likes of this (
http://www.google.com/patents/US4703826) become a reality?
An automatic or semi-automatic pistol is made substantially of polymer materials. The pistol includes polymer upper and lower receivers and a polymer barrel attached to the upper receiver.

Yep, Blazer was supposed to replace the brass cartridge years ago......

This was being tested by our Army back in the 80's that I know of and probably earlier, along with cartridge less systems, both worked however the latter left too much fouling and obviously was never adopted. No doubt they are still working on such systems.

Guys,
We shot it in Vegas in January and covered it in February's Target Shooter.
It was originally developed for the US Army to be lighter than conventional ammo. but the manufacturer also found it was more accurate than their brass cased ammo.
And no - you don't reload it!

i'm struggling to see an advantage for us? ammo weight it's main advantage is not a worry for target shooters and stalkers also don't need to worry really , i mean who takes that much ammo stalking?
accuracy however is something you can never have too much of !
likewise cost ? if it's cheaper then that can only benefit us?

Hmm, the MAIN driver of almost all ammunition development is surely military application, being by far and away the greatest consumers so if it means soldiers can carry more/carry the same for less weight, while retaining accuracy and IF it can be made for the same or less cost, i can see this taking off big time.
Brass cases might go the way of case bullets, muzzleloaders etc - the preserve of those with historical interest

I would have thought that was just because they produced it in smaller quantities than the brass cased ammo. That's just an assumption though - I don't know how many rounds they produced in order to carry out the tests!

More accurate? Any ammunition can be accurate. Surely it is the predictability and repeatability of the round that is important.

Plastic Ammo??? A reloaders nightmare.
Might be OK for the forces though, less weight to carry.
Except that is the Royal Navy....Their hair spray and nail varnish remover would just melt the cases.
