GRS Rifle stocks follow up

Just wanted to clarify a thought that had been put in my head the last time the forum talked about these stocks.
http://www.grsriflestocks.com/grodas/sporter-varmint

I know at least one member purchased one, perhaps they can answer my question.

There was some suggestion that GRS was going to make a AICS Magazine option at some point in the future. I have written to them twice asking for conformation and they have not replied one way or the other.

Does the forum member who has one think that the eBay £100 Tikka AICS magazine kit would fit in to their stock. Or have they tried an AICS magazine, just to rule out that they are not compatible?

I keep coming back to these stocks but the AICS magazine compatibility or lack of it, is an issue for me,

As you know I have one - but with mine being a 6.5x55 the E-bay AICS conversion is not an option for me.

Have you tried speaking to Jackson's rifles - they import the GRS and maybe in a better position to answer your question. What I will say is that if it is designed to fit a T3 with a "normal" stock then I see no reason why the GRS would prevent this - the fit is like a glove and I have no issues whatsoever with the standard T3 mags.

I am sure we can arrange a mutually agreeable time and I'll bring it to Bisley for you to see and shoot first hand (I'll try and remember to bring the bivy bag too )

It certainly turned heads at Warcop yesterday and a couple of the die hards are now converts to 6.5x55 after seeing how sweet it shoots.

Shooting sports magazine had a detach mag/GRS stock in the last couple of issues. Pete Moore has built a rifle using it.

I was talking to Simon West Saturday about a project and he does do some nice work, having said that I have just been asked to order a GRS Sporter/Varmint for a new Sako 85, lovely things and really light as well.

I'm going to save up and buy a joewest thumb up style stock in the new year. Need to get the CDI bottom metal conversion for the T3 first tho.

Will you be finishing the inletting yourself? Looking at Jo/Simon's work I would say it is certainly possible for someone without prior experience as long as they take their time and are careful.

Post some pictures when you are finished!

I'll get them to do their 95% inlet and do the rest myself. I'm thinking about having it hydrograpic'd in carbon fibre:) I'll post some pics in the new year when done.
