Forum Shoot - Venue Dates and cost
I had a bit crack with Vince on Sunday about the possibilities at Diggle for the forum Shoot.
From the Poll mid week looks marginally the most popular and would make booking Diggle easier as they have a full programme of weekend shoots, by going midweek we can decide what we want to shoot.
Looking at dates June seemed to be good as that gets the Phoenix out of the way and it couldbe marginally warmer. As Wednesday is mid week I am proposing the following two dates 15th and 22nd June, vote in the poll for your preference, if both days are suitable then please vote for both.
On cost we can attend as individual day members of Pennine Shooting Sports Association, which is £15 each for the day, a veritable bargain.
Once we have agreed the date we can turn our minds to the length of the day, start and finish times as well as our programme for the day. Perhaps you could explain the options of what we could feasably shoot Vince to help us put the programme together.
Personally this is a fun shoot day for me and I would like to shoot and experience stuff that isn't my normal disciplines like long range and some gallery rifle stuff like steel or falling plates.
Finally as this is as much a social occasion as much as anything else is there any relish for a post shoot get together, meal, picnic, barbecue whatever?
What say ye?

Either day is fine for me, I can bring my AI in 7,62x51, No4(T) and 7mm so I have all bases covered, plus a crate of ammunition so people can try something different and I am happy to shoot any target or discipline in fact the more varied or unusual the better

Either date is good for me.
I'm bringing my No5, 357 Mag if we are doing gallery rifle and maybe the RM10/22.

Re: Forum Shoot - Venue Dates and cost
Can I make a decision? Can we go for the 22nd? The 15th would be close to my holiday and I would like enough time to prepare to get best use of the day.
I would also suggest we shoot steel plates at 400 and 600 yards and maybe, if there is time, we try some 1000 yard stuff - mainly for those who've never shot this distance. We can make it a little comp. if you'd like that.
It might be difficult to include more - like gallery rifle. It could be run alongside the 400yd plate but it would need another RO and I may be the only one available. Because of the 'peculiarities' of Diggle Ranges, we only allow our own ROs. For the record, our RO course is based on the NRA course but takes all disciplines into account that we shoot at Diggle.
Close by is the Diggle Hotel - excellent reasonably priced food - ideal for an after-shoot social for those who wish.
Cheers
Vince

Do you allow camping on the grounds Vince, I have a bit of a hang up about straying too far from my rifles.

Ovenpaa,
If you were intending to travel up the day before, most of the B&Bs are used to shooters with rifles.
If you were to go out in the evening, to say the Diggle Hotel, your car would be visible when it was in their car park.
Many of our members stop off for a bevvy on their way home. In fact, in June, you can eat outside if you wish - and it's warm enough!
We do have a large safe in the Range House but it soon fills up.
Cheers
Vince

I would be interested in camping there, would be a laugh. If not then I may well have to head off after the shoot depending on what I could swing work wise.
