Recommendations on Re-painting

#1 Post by seanw »

Hi All

I could really do with some advice, as one of my .308 ( HA Precision .308 ) is in desprate need of being repainted, due to the previous owners DIY attempts

At present the barrel, stock and magazine have been painted with duracoat, and to be honest it doesn’t do such a great rifle any justice.

So my questions are as follows, is duracoat my only option or are there any new new products on the market that give better results ?

Can anyone recommend a good gunsmith preferably in the SW, that can provide a profession finish using these products ?

What are the costs involved, can anyone provide an idea, on what i should be paying for such a job ?

Thanks in advanced, for any advice given

regards
Sean

Hi Sean,

Allthough not in the SW I could highly reccomend Riflecraft in Norfolk for your repainting. They have a cerakote qualified sprayer now and their work is excellent. A buddy of mine has recently had his Shotgun done and looks brand new.

Cerakote is good paint and shall last you a long time.

Worth a chat to them as the prices are very reasonable.

All the best

Have a look for Jager SA on The Stalking Directory, fully qualified and cheaper then Riflecraft by all accounts. http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk/s ... t=cerakote

Also consider Dave at Valkyrie. Does Duracoat and Cerakote and has plenty pictures of his work on his web site. Also look for testimonials elsewhere. Has done work for me and its top notch.
