Mount and rail look normal, although most of the mounts have a quick-tighten arm attached to the clamp screw.

They are a mount-and-screw-tight system, rather than a slide-on as the dovetail suggests. I got rid of my AKs and scopes and don't have one to hand to examine, but I do recall that the scopes often don't seem to fit at first.

Some people put extra locking screws through mount and bracket, which is what some of the extra holes might be.

Mount doesn't look right to me, unfortunately I can't have a look at mine 'til later. They get all funny when I take the AK to work... ;)
EDIT: Just remembered I have a photo of one of mine here somewhere. Will post it up below in a minute...

Looks like you've got an SVD mount

Ahhh bugger!
Oh well, best see if I can find another mount, maybe at the shooting show.

Leon,

Last time I was at Olegs place, he had a few spare AK lower parts - ie on any BP02 mount or indeed any POSP scope, the mount is in two parts - its the lower part that is dedicated to SVD or AK.

I am sure if you ask nicely he will swap for a small handling charge.

Just remove the 2 ( or 4 depending on age ) screws and wiggle the mount off the pins which are FIXED into the lower part.

Brian.
