1) What is Plan A?

2) If this is Plan B has anything else changed in regards to the original specifications?

Plan A is that we may be able to get our paws on a rather special pre-existing rifle, in 7.62x51, currently owned by a member of this forum who might, just might, be considering selling it.

Otherwise it's back to the original plan, now named Plan B, of designing our own - which will probably be built by those aquatic mammals over in Louth. Leading contenders for Plan B at the moment are 6.5x55 Swe, * fired through a stainless barrel, in an AICS or Joe West Tactical stock.

* We already have the matching pistol and ammo... sign92

In that case concentrate on Plan A and see what happens - I'm guessing there is no rush on this, so plan B can wait?

It it was me, I would be looking at getting a custom stock made for the LRB - thus turning it into a rifle for no other reason than to be awkward and to see the look of despair on my FEOs face!

The FLO himself was contemplating classing it as a rifle simply because it had a 23 inch barrel and fired a rifle cartridge. The Firearms team were apparently split 2 : 2 on the decision of rifle versus pistol, and eventually went with pistol 'because the Chief Constable will take the view that it looks like one'
