FAC to be shown to buy bullets
Have I missed something .........
Been looking to order a largish amount of bullets over the internet, have done this several times before, but those dealers don't stock what I'm after. I have found a dealer (no name) who has the stock, but wants to see my FAC in person or will send to a RFD for a excessive charge. My question is since when have you had to show a FAC for bullets...... Ammo, Primers, Powder, I except but FMJ bullets... Anyone come across this before..

Re: FAC to be shown to buy bullets
Just normal FMJ's? Not expanding?? How odd, who is it?
Re: FAC to be shown to buy bullets
Whilst i agree completely with you that it isn't necessary legally and that it's a pain, i don't know how 'problematic' the dealers licensing branch is e.g.
- I have been asked by a few dealers to fax my FAC before they'd send me bulk items.
- I regularly visit a dealer who insists on entering expanding bullets on my FAC yet another only 20 miles away (and alot more fiesty) never does.

Sorted....
Yes just standard FMJ, every bullet listing has the same wording "licence required or send to RFD" the reference number I quoted was listed as expanding on there system so their error not mine, and they are out of stock anyway of FMJ.
The search continues......

Re: FAC to be shown to buy bullets
No, but it's not unheard of for some dealers to ask to see your FAC before they'll sell you anything ammo or gun related. It's happened to me a couple of times and although I am no way in favour of further legislation/regulation, I can't blame a bloke who "voluntarily" protects his livlihood...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?
Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

It's the FEO...it happens around here and that's what the dealers tell me.

It has happened to me as well. A minor irritation , but I agree when you say
