The brass is made from 6 or 7mm BR neck expanded to take the .338 bullet
Any reason you went with a long action, as the 308 is a small action round....?

This was not cheap but was done on a budget and I have the flexibility to go super sonic aswell

Tell us more...
Was looking at an Enfield converted to .45 with a moderated barrel but to expensive to buy or pay for conversion. £2-2.5K

A couple of US firms offer 45ACP conversion kits
The kits themselves for the trigger housing/magazine assembly were not too badly priced - it'd just then be a case of sourcing a suitable barrel blank, etc.

Only thing is that none of them will export to the UK.

Rhineland arms says no - http://www.troupsystems.com/mauser45kits.htm and the last time I contacted Special Interest Arms (admittedly a few years ago) they had stopped exporting the kits.

I managed to get mine off an RFD who got some in before they stopped exporting them.

I dont suppose...by any slim chance...should you have a cartridge that is, lets say less than 100%....

You might consider putting an inert together for me would you please Wildrover?

I am a keen cartridge collector (still waiting for sec 5 collectors permission on my ticket for expanding etc) and am never likely to see one of these.

Happy to pay for parts, donate to H4H etc.

No probs if not, great if you can.

Enjoy, my lot have an AI that is fully hush....dont suppose they will ever use it but it's there in case I guess ;)

That's a really interesting rifle. What do you intend to use it for, what's its primary use?

How much does such a right cost?
