Schmidt Rubin/K31 day at Bisley

#1 Post by kennyc »

just a quick toe in the water to gauge interest,
initially I'm thinking along the lines of a range day/half day for people with schmidt Rubin rifles (G11,K11,K31 etc ) to meet and shoot their little preciouses.
Range costs would need to be split between those turning up, and people would need to be individual members of the NRA, although I have attended before via the auspices of BASC.
I would suggest 300 as a starting point, as 300m is the standard Swiss target range for comps/practice, however with enough interest we could make it 300 falling back to 600,
and for the future if enough people are keen we could look into 1000yrds (although thats a discussion for a later date ;) )
if people could post their interest and whether a weekday or weekend is possible, then we can look and see if its a viable idea.

Count me an my K11 Carbine in. Will need a couple of weeks notice for either midweek or a week end. Weekend may clash with shooting!
I am an NRA member. Also happy to go out to 900.
Perhaps we could have 300 yards with bayonet fixed?

I haven't got a S/R bayonet and the K11 and K31 use different ones  good idea though  I use reloads up to 600 and Privi for the longer ranges, although if I get the timing right I may get some GP11 at the Trafalgar

Ooooh ! We like the sound of this ! A weekend would suit us best, but a weekday is not entirely out of the question.

Just to open this up a bit and get some interest going.
How about making it an Schmidt v Enfield day?
K11 v SMLE and K31 v No4.
I have a K11 and a No4!

NRA has 2 x Schmidt-Rubins and 2x No4s for hire, if members who don't own one want to join in.
