Re: FEO Wages
but don't forget the main qualification little to no knowledge or interest in shooting/firearms
What is a Sapper? This versatile genius condenses the whole system of military engineering and all that is useful and practical. He is a man of all work of the Army and the public ready to do anything or go anywhere, in short, he is a Sapper.
Re: FEO Wages
Weirdly, the one constant in the ads I found was that the applicant had to demonstrate relevant practical experience of using firearms.pe4king wrote:but don't forget the main qualification little to no knowledge or interest in shooting/firearms

This should answer the question. http://www.essex.police.uk/recruitment/ ... nupage=307SevenSixTwo wrote:How much do FEOs and Firearms Branch staff typically earn - anyone know?
As for them not being interested in firearms, the ones we've dealt in Essex with have been. The one before last retired a couple of years ago. He was a very active deer stalker and was happy to chat about all things firearms.
He was also friendly. Bnz walked into a cafe near to a dealer and our FLO was in there with his elderly mum, he invited him to join them at their table. A few weeks after he retired we saw his van pull up on our drive. He had been stuck in traffic with nowhere safe to pull over and his radiator was boiling over. He said he knew we lived nearby and wouldn't mind him calling in for help. We chatted while his radiator cooled, helped him fill up and he went on his way.
Never say something in Cyberspace you can't say Face to Face!!

Re: FEO Wages
Usually retired coppers up this way. Many retire from the force on full pensions and straight into a civilian job.
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: FEO Wages
Mine is an ex police dog handler & all round nice bloke.
Well in to his dogs & shooting but doesn't like biscuits, cake or cups of tea wtfwtf

Re: FEO Wages
At those rates it's a wonder more of them aren't thinking "I've just had to drive all the way here and this W*** is wanting to blow £2000 on a toy!"
Re: FEO Wages
As promised, that list of FEO job descriptions. It's a bunch of PDF files inside a ZIP file. About 900kb.
