Thanks for the link. They're a little pricey for what they are...
Re: 1987 Semi-Automatic rifle ban
They are nice bits of kit. Here's a photo of my MP44 which was the first one made specifically for the UK market. Shoots amazingly well, did a 4 inch group at 200 yds with it once, lovely little round the 7.93x33.HALODIN wrote: A forum member here has the BD43/I in straight pull, there are some photos floating around somewhere. I wonder how accurate the BD42/I is...

Re: 1987 Semi-Automatic rifle ban
We nearly moved to the US a few years ago but my kids didn't want to go, bet they wish they had now as we are all into shooting. Just got back from Vegas on a mainly shooting trip with my boys, went to Battlefield Vegas and shot an MG42, BAR, Thompson M1A1, MP40, MP44, Garand and several pistols. Now I know it's nice to have straight pull rifles and I have an M1 Carbine but the yanks can't believe it when I explain what we have to put up with, god how I wish we had moved !

That's the fella! Really nice and sounds surprisingly accurate.

Back in the day shooters in the U.S. were envious of what you in the UK were able to own and shoot. Soon California is going to catch up to the UK on gun laws. Sad times for us.

rufrdr, California won't be happy until you don't have any firearms at all. Then the only non Police or military that will have them will be the criminals and the gang bangers. I wonder how the Dems will spin it when the law abiding are all disarmed and gun crime figures remain the same or God forbid even rise.
I've been to California a few times in the past and it certainly is a beautiful State, alas with the fcukwit State politicians you folks have, there is nothing on earth that could make me want to live there.

Blu.
It's funny that California used to be very firearms oriented. Armalite started here as did Weatherby. The movie stars were big into shooting sports and shooting ranges were everywhere. Many of the surplus houses were big back in the day like Sherwood and Federal Ordnance. All gone now. There used to be some great gun shops in Los Angeles but I doubt there is one left within the city limits. Heck, when I moved to CA in 1988 civilians could buy firearms and ammunition at the LAPD gun shop. They had smokin' deals. Can't do that any more. I'd say the changes started with the armed Black Panthers and the SLA shootout.
I'm from PA and headed back there in 6 years or so when I retire from my job. California has been good to me in the past but it is turning into a cesspool. I see you are in Michigan. I used to live in Grand Rapids by the way!

Re: 1987 Semi-Automatic rifle ban
Talking of California, I stumbled across this today.
http://www.ammoland.com/2013/09/countdo ... z2eYYpDU8MThey are now coming for your guns, your magazines, your money, and your home protection. I’m somewhat surprised they are not after your blood, though indirectly they are.
In a move that should have surprised no one, a gaggle of California’s elite (or should I say elitist) legislators dumped a stack of gun control bills into the legislative hopper this session. Together these bills seek to ban detachable magazine rifles (period), ban and confiscate existing factory magazines with capacities greater than ten rounds (period), ban traditional hunting ammunition, ban mail order sales of all ammunition, and require government approval to buy any ammunition at all.
