F-class rifle : action
Reminiscent of Badger's build along with Badger threads, but a different set of requirements...
I am looking to build a new F/TR rifle in 308.
First up - action choice. I could stick with my Savage and get a new barrel.
A sound plan? Which action would you choose and why?
Ta muchly folks :-)

No, you wanted a magazine fed gun, I want a single shot. If you can have an IPad and a Galaxy Note, then our two threads will have to get along :-)
And besides, flagrant plagiarism - do try to stay on topic ;-)

We have a magazine fed action ooman, whereas you need to single load. Go google Dervishes at Omdurman versus Lee Metford...

First of all, what's your budget?
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!
Re: F-class rifle : action
At this stage, I want to know people's thoughts on the relative merits of each action, so I am not worried how much it costs, yet.

Re: F-class rifle : action
If your Savage is one of the solid bottom 'target' actions - stick with that, they shoot amazingly well. If it's one of the old actions - with an enormous ejection port and mag. cut out - think about something else.Mr_Logic wrote:Reminiscent of Badger's build along with Badger threads, but a different set of requirements...

Quadlites and Quadlocks are quite plentiful on the s/h market and will form the basis of a sound single-shot FTR rifle.
