May be of interest to you guys, ever had difficulty adjusting the windage on an AK/Saiga front sight?.They can be as tight as well and even with the correct tool it can be a bit hit and miss. Then this might be your answer....
Its a windage adjustable RPK lmg rear sight leaf and is brilliant, just pop your old leaf out and pop one of these in and adjusting the windage is a twiddle of a knob away. They will replace a standard length 1000m sight (some Saigas are only marked to 300m but have a 1000m length sight leaf) but not the shorter 800m length one. There are some for sale on eBay, mine was from the Ukraine and only took a week to arrive. Also don't forget the elevation on the front sight post can be adjusted using the standard AK toolkit (small metal cylinder with goodies in that should come with every AK) :)

I'm interested, any chance you can give me the site where you got yours from, or you mentioned that well known auction site, do you have an item number/seller.

I sold one of these recently - it was on my Vepr 12 and I took it off when I went to a ghost ring setup instead.
Yes, a really nice rearsight and far better than the stock AK item.
I believe Oleg at RusMilitary has them

Was it on the Vepr from new?, seems odd having a 1000m sight on a shotgunbreacher wrote:I sold one of these recently - it was on my Vepr 12 and I took it off when I went to a ghost ring setup instead.

Oleg has them listed but rarely in stock, they still work out cheaper from the Ukraine.

The VEPR is built using a RPK receiver etc

Yes, it was on there from new - but was surplus to requirements seeing as I rarely take it past 600 yards with slug.

I got to the range yesterday and rezeroed the AKM with the new rear sight and it was an absolute breeze, just had to alter the elevation on the front post by about a turn and give it a bit of adjustment on the rear.Zeroed it at 50m initially then took it on the 100m and didn't have to touch the sights again as it was grouping quite nicely with some old Tula milsurp so its good enough. On a side note I also got the bayonet fitted so its looks the part as well :)
