We have an AIA no5 junglie look alike in 7.62x39, which we call our Goblinator, and can't find fault with it. It's accurate, reliable and a delight to shoot.
We have a Noise Magnet (or two) too, and don't see a problem with the Molots. They aren't masquerading as originals and so we can accept them for what they are. Diversity is the key, oomans...

Re: Molot KO-91/30
Molot do a model called the Vepr KM which is a civilian AKM built on original 1960s AKMs , the 91/30s could be a similiar deal with new rifles built using original parts much like Charnwood Ordnance did with Enfields but Molot could do it on a bigger scale. There are probably enough "as new" rifles and parts to churn out thousands of them. When it comes to weaponry and equipment the Russians rarely scrap anything, it goes into storage.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a storage facility somewhere in darkest Russia thats full of T-34s.Don't forget they were still issuing and using Mosin PUs fairly recently in Chechnya and South Ossetia.

So does Izhmash own Molot or not Snayperskaya? If they don't I see some interesting possibilities for various rifles imported into the UK market.
Re: Molot KO-91/30
Answered my own question, yes they do

Izhmash merged with Izhevsk Mechanical Plant (Izhmekh) to form Kalashnikov Concern on the 13th of August 2013 but from what I can gather both Molot and Tula Arsenals are still seperate entities.Molot and Tula still have their own websites, with no mention of a merger with Kalashnikov Concern.
