Seriously not my cup of tea, but I know there are a few here with this particular fetish who might enjoy.

We have similar plans. Once Ovenpaa has finished our current project a TKIV-85 look alike is on the drawing board...

I do like the BlueGrass stocks, the link to the build is worth a read as well.

EDIT - The adjusting screws in the cheek riser are hideous! Other than that it is a superb looking rifle and a nice take on an old beast. I have a MN here that is destined for some work for a customer however I am not sure it will be quite as nice as this, well not unless I can persuade the customer to dip deep into his pockets tongueout

I agree DL, makes me wonder how much of a rifles accuracy is in the action.

We all have our dalliances, I am guilty of trying to 'pimp up' a factory rifle, but certainly not a general issue wartime bolt action.

This one certainly seems to shoot well. The important thing to remember is do not look on this is as an old Milsurp or even a pimped up rifle, it is an all new build based on the MN Action and magazine with a freshly cut 7,62x54R chamber, cut to CIP standards. Really not so different to what a lot of people do to the humble Rem700 and I can think of several people shooting the 700 who only have the original action or in the case of two just the original receiver and that has been trued up.

I strongly believe a MN action put together properly will shoot as well as many new rifles. This also applies to the .303 - Fit a new LW barrel with new chamber and it is probably also going to shoot 1MOA. not bad for actions which were military issue 70+ years ago.

They are also considerably cheaper that the Rem700's as donor rifles.

They could have moved the bolt handle back and filled the gap in the receiver, bit more rigidity and makes for an easy rail mount :D
