Tikka T3 with 20" barrel - muzzle velocity low?

A T3 with a 20'' barrel is quite unusual , as standard , they come with a 22'' barrel .
50gr bullets might start out faster but fall off quicker than 55gr pills which have better B.C.
Factory ammo is usually much slower than claimed velocity, usually around 200fps.
The Tikka is the best rifle in it's price range, guaranteed accuracy & an excellent adjustable trigger.

Its not unusual in the UK, all T3s at the importers are 20" as they are all screwcut.

Out of interest why not order a varmint with 24" barrel if you want the extra oomph? That's what I did with my Tactical and that's fine at 900 yd with MEN NATO albeit in .308 :)

6 to 9 month lead time! Never mind, will give the 20" a go as I have foxes that need sorting out now, when the bore is shot out I'll re-barrel it at 24" or there abouts.
