You mean, there are other calibres / cartridges than 308 WIN? tongueout
Hello chums, I thought I would post an update on here let you know how your advice turned out. After a tip off from a friend at my fullbore club I followed up an ad in Gunmart and I'm now the proud owner of a Paramount 308/7.62, 30" Maddco 1 in 13 twist barrel with only 500 rounds through it, Paramount rear sight, gun case all in pristine condition and all for the sum of £600 ! Thats right, I have saved £1500 on the Fultons price tag and ended up with a better rifle to boot. Its now in bits being cleaned up and the stock re-oiled so photos to follow soon. Thanks again to you all for help and advice. I'm off to learn how to use it now!
Sorry, but that's impossible. Our TR 'experts' here have taught us that there is not only a very high cost of entry to TR, but also an 'arms race' that renders your kit outdated as soon as you've bought it. </sarcasm>.
But from me: well done! a great buy that is capable of taking you as far as you ever wish to go in the sport.
600 is indeed a great price I bought 2 at 700 each for the club, take great care of the rear sight they do tend to suffer backlash & thread wear as we have had to replace the screws on both. Other than that they are great rifles. Enjoy it
Quality control of Scottish Ethanol. & RDX/HMX

Ovenpaa, ELXLE is the sequence for laying an Artillery piece,
E roughly for Elevation
L roughly for line
X Cross bubbles
L accurately for line
E accurately for elevation
Some Royal Artillery regiments differ in this sequence with their particular guns, so you may be a ELXLE regiment or an ELXEL regiment.

If the barrel, bedding and sights are in good nick then that's a bargain! Good luck with it and let us know how you get on.
