Mannlicher M95
We saw some nice Mannlicher M95 carbines at the Shooting Show, but haven't been able to find out much about them online other than a short wikipedia article. Can any of you clever oomans educate us a little further ?

Re: Mannlicher M95
Do you mean the Steyr Mannlicher M95 straight pull rifles in 8x56R with the Mannlicher en bloc loading clip?
If so they are fine rifles, plenty of information on them, Sandgroper has a carbine version and jjvc has a long version and no doubt there are plenty of others have them too. They have been discussed on here before.
The cheap surplus ammunition seems to drying up though, they are fine cast boolit shooters too.

Yes, those are the ones ! They appeared to be quite robust actions and nice looking rifles too.

Re: Mannlicher M95
Come over to the dark side, oh stripy one!
Yes, I'm biased but I think they're fantastic rifles. As a straight pull, they've been proven in battle -WWI, II and apparently some of the post colonial African wars.
As Dromia said, the cheap surplus ammunition (Bulgarian - actually MG ammo!) seems to be a bit scarce but Prvi makes ammunition. The other thing you need to be aware of is that you need the en-bloc clip otherwise it's a single shot.

I've always found these quite fascinating and certainly hope to obtain a M95 long rifle in years to come
