I didn't know Hera made the lantac lowers

I thought they machined their own.....learn quite a few things new everyday on here.

I am actually leaning towards building my own leaning towards a Hera (lantac) lower to start with and probably a lantac upper and barrel with charging handle

Can't get too excited yet though

I was told that they use Hera uppers and lowers and ESS barrels which are €88 which may explain why they said it would be £240 to fit a 300aac barrel instead!.

i wanted the hera over hte lantec purely because it dus not have the side charging handle so its as "normal" as possible otherwise whats the point of a side charging handle you might as well get a bolt action

Side charger is faster than a bolt action. A standard t-handle means you have to shift your cheek weld, plus if you've mounted your scope quite far back, you need a modified t-handle, like a BCM Gunfighter. Standard t-handle just won't cut it for clearance under a scope.

ADC of Italy do an Ambi. The left hand ones seem to be available from this Slovenian website for about £250, but if you want an ambi-receiver, probably easier to go for a SGC.

Lantac have parts made to there specification the lowers for Lantac, Steyr and Hera are made all in one factory.
The barrels are a tad more than that once chambered.
And except for Bob who does make there own.
For how much you will save and the pain in the ass putting them together I would have Paul build me one. And unless your going border most barrels for AR's are reasonable money. Mines a ESS barrel groups under an inch at 100 even with undeveloped home loads, could do better when I spend some time on it this summer.

Sadly you asked a question that drags out the Bradley arms fan club and the Lantac fan club.
All I can say is German engineering beats english any day of the week. Leyland or Volkswagen?
