Morning Blu and All.

+ 1 here for the "Such stupid f*%#ing laws" observation.

The scope on the M14 is an original, not Chinese, 3x9 ART II scope made by Leatherwood? This one has the 100 to 450 yd cam ring on it, for longer distances, I need to get hold of the 300 - 900 yd cam.

In the UK the scope is a rare find for which I owe Huntervixen an acknowledgement. It was originally bought in the states back in the mid 80's for use on a semi auto M14 back here. Then that class of rifle was banned in 86/87 so the owner held on to it and it remained unused in since then. I bought it last year with the original green fiberglass carrying case which must be half the weight of an M14.

The M40 has a 3x9 Redfield scope. Both rifles shoot really well. I was having a bad day suffering from a back problem so prone shooting was not easy but I managed to finish with a 4 shot group of about 1.5 inches with the fifth shot 1" out from that. The M14 is showing a lot of promise and I'm very pleased with it.

The M40 is C*ck on, it's owner being a fine shot with all his rifles.

Hi Paul, yeah I thought it was, as said already I used to have one of those scopes. Wish now I had kept a hold of it, really good scopes and hard to come by now.

A pair of really nice rifles.

I wanted one of those re-created M40s when they came out a few years ago, but just couldn't swing it.

Thought this made an interesting bit of gun porn.

Very, very nice! Do you know the secret of using the M1 slings that are on your rifles other than as a hasty sling?
