.260 Remington build suggestions

#1 Post by techguy »

While I'm waiting for my ticket to come back with a bunch of goodies on it, including a .260 Rem rifle I've been pondering which direction to approach this build.

So, all ye long distance shooters...and rifle builders.. what would you suggest for a .260? Purely for target work (informally, nothing competitive)

It is all down to taste really, if it is not for formal competition you could look at a repeater utilising AICS magazines, the .260 fits and feeds from them very nicely and you could go for something vaguely tactical looking which always goes down well.

Tikka Varmint, Manners stock, Mag conversion.... Duracoated OD to natch the other stuff! Lol!
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

My mistake, they don't do them in 260 Rem.

They list them in 6.5 Creedmoor, though.....

Ovenpaa, how easy to fit a detachable mag to a Ruger full bore?

The only thing that would make such a thing more "you", would be to write your name on the stock....!

I’ll post a picture of mine later. If you want to see what’s what in 'Tactical', I prefer 'Precision Repeating', Rifles come along to the RBL Match at Bisley on 2 Aug 14, there will be an array of the finest there being used out to 600 yards on some very small targets.
