Torque Wrench
Guys I need a T handle torque wrench set to 68" lbs for my new dta rifle. I've found a supplier in the US but he hasn't emailed back letting me know if he has one set in that torque setting. The description just says 2-80" lbs. can anyone help me out?
Cheers Danny

Re: Torque Wrench
I use a borka http://shooterstools.com/Pages/MTD/mtdkits.html for my DTA, using the 65 inch pound setting.
You can use the borka for scope rings, etc as well, using the other torque settings. I believe Brock and Norris are/ used to be the UK importer.
If you want a Ssekonk t handle torque wrench, Nightforce market one set to 65/68 inch pound which retails for about £95 in the UK.
You can purchase a Seekonk directly from the US, set to the 70 inch pounds recommended by DTA in the later user manuals, via http://www.protorquetools.com/prod-18-1 ... in-lbs.htm. When you place your order and go through the "cart"/ checkout process you specify what torque setting you want.
Not sure how much Ewen of Bench Grade Brands, European DTA importer, charges or if he has them in stock.

Re: Torque Wrench
Wow. Can't believe the price of some of those. I only paid £100 each for my snap on 1/2 and 3/8 ones!!!
Something for £20 off eBay will be more than good enough for occasional use. Then just get a hex/torx/spline bit the right size.

Re: Torque Wrench
he wanted something that could be set to 68 in/lbs that should do it nicely, and allow him to adjust it for his scope mounts etcDW58 wrote:^ That equates to a range of 26 - 132 pound-inches/inch-pounds ^kennyc wrote:any use Dan? http://www.fatbirds.co.uk/2799/products ... h-set.aspx

Re: Torque Wrench
problem is, we are talking about in/lbs not ft/lbs so the market is smaller by a magnitude, hence prices go up!billgatese30 wrote:Wow. Can't believe the price of some of those. I only paid £100 each for my snap on 1/2 and 3/8 ones!!!

Re: Torque Wrench
Even still. I think my cheapie 1/4 inch one was a £20-25 one from eBay or similar. I only bought the bigger snap-on ones as they get used quite a bit. They still only guarantee similar accuracy compared to ones worth 30 quid from machine mart etc.

Re: Torque Wrench
It's going be a lot cheaper to get a colour chart and calibrate your knuckles, ooman.
Pink = not enough inch pounds
Magnolia = just right
White = too many inch pounds
Bright red with a bit of bone showing = finger slipped off the wrench and sliced along the receiver
