Here's the basic plan (a photoshop cobble together not necessarily of the exact parts, e.g. this is the Remington Tac21 chassis rather than Tikka).

I may add the forthcoming AccuShot Atlas 5-H bipod when it's released - the entire chassis/stock will be Cerakoted Flat Dark Earth, I haven't finally decided what do do with the stainless Tikka T3 barrelled action, whether to Cerakote it or leave as is. The only major components missing above are the TET Spartan III suppressor and AccuShot monopod.

I'm based up north near Inverness, so Sennybridge is highly unlikely, sorry.
Looks good, hope it shoots as well as you hope! Good choice in scope, that's exactly what I was going to buy. Importing form the states so should save me a few hundred quid!

When I costed it out, the scope was pretty much the same price here as in the US, I paid £678 from Riflecraft, it's somewhere $1,000-1,100 in the US. You may also find that scope is not available for export as many of the tactical-style scopes are restricted by ITAR.

I'll double check rifle craft later if it's that cheap. I asked the US website and they said they are able to export it but not the picatinny rail which was rather odd. Which reticle did you get?

I have the EBR-1 reticle with MOA adjustment - the scope is still listed at £678.00 - see here.

I have good contacts in the US and had hoped to source various components there, but was rather annoyed to find so many items were ITAR restricted. For example the LaRue Tactical scope mount I fancied and a Harris bipod to Picatinny rail adapter were both covered and therefore prohibited.

I can't help wondering that the Americans have taken things just a bit too far.

Tell me about it. I go on holidays yearly to Florida and always try to stock up on stuff I can bring back but as you say there's stupid stuff that are prohibited.

Have you had the chance to try anything remotely like your set up? When I got into rifles after losing our pistols, I lusted after an AI chassis. I got one. It was horrible! I just couldn't get on with the stock shape at all. Sold it very quickly afterwards.

You will be dropping an awful lot of money on a dream gun. But, it's non conventional to say the least. Just tread carefully with internet pics and day dreams is all I'm saying.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

That's exactly why I opted for the MDT set-up, it's the most versatile of all the chassis systems on the market.

Besides the skeleton stock I have ordered, it will take any stock which will fit an AR15/M16/M4 rifle as it's threaded for a conventional AR15 buffer tube via a second rear action cap which replaces the skeleton stock, so the options are almost limitless. Similarly it'll take any AR15/M16/M4 pistol grip.

MDT have a folding stock unit in the pipeline as well.

This is exactly why I am asking you guys!

Sim G.....That is some of the best advice so far and I am well aware that that can happen.

I have tried a Tikka in a third eye tactical chassis in .223 and it was gorgeous.

It made my mind up on a bolt gun.

However, after noting the cost of the setup and comparing it to 'off the shelf' options it got me looking at an AI setup.

I like the 'AR' style bolt guns a lot....I also have a lot of Magpul stuff already.

I have not tried an AI and I suppose I won't be able to unless someone has one at my club.

The AX does look awesome though.....

I am worried that it is a military setup though (and know what that means) but will it hold it's money better as an oem bit of kit.

There should be a try before you buy lol!
