Any chance you could estimate the values below for me please? If you'd rather not say, I understand.
With an AI action, normal barrel in 260 Rem and not taking benchrest-style care over your cases and loading, you are not going be able to spot any difference between these barrel lengths at 100x. At 1000x the extra length is worth having.

What ever barrel length you go for it will probably shoot better than you can. Same is true of almost all barrels.

So would you suggest the 28" barrel?

If you are only ever going to shoot prone off a bipod or off a bench then get a long barrel. If you aspire to shoot the AI in more challenging positions and in CoFs designed to test you and your equipement then opt for a shorter barrel. If the standard AI is 26" stick with it.

Thanks for everyone's input and sorry for the awkward questions!

Having spoken with Graeme about varying barrel lengths, I decided to go for the 28" in the end. He suggested the 26" would be ever so slightly more accurate than the 28" over 100 yards, but perhaps by only 1-2 mm, which I'm happy to accept whilst retaining the extra muzzle velocity, which gets me out further...

I'll have it in my hands next week, can't wait!
