Looking for a good full bore club in/close to Cardiff

#1 Post by Taha »

Hi there,

I'm quite new to the forum. I just posted a little intro about myself on the New Members section.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a decent full bore club that is in or close to Cardiff?

Regards
Taha

Ps. These emoticons are way cool lol.

Hi Taha
Dursley Rifle and Pistol club meet last Sunday of every month (apart from December) at 11a.m. at Severnside range. There's plenty of club guns to use and advice is free and forth coming. FYI: Drive from Cardiff is about 30 minutes.....if you Google "Severn Tunnel Junction" you get a location about 5 minutes from the range.
Anything and everything gets shot, from small bore all the way up to miniature cannon! Rifles, Black powder, Shotguns, Airguns....as long as it's Safe, Fun and Legal then someone is doing it there
You can find their facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dursley- ... 63?sk=info
and website at http://www.dursleyrpc.org.uk/
If you email Ron at secretary@dursleyrpc.org.uk then he'll be able to give you any further info you need - membership costs. requirements etc.
Cheers

Great club, great owner and great value for money......the only downside is that it is only up to 200 yards.

Have to agree with DaveT.

I've been a member there for 5 months now and have just got my ticket. Before joining I had no experience of shooting any kind of rimfire / fullbore rifle.

The owner Rich is a great guy and it's an enjoyable environment to shoot in.

Although I find it a bit of a pain that it doesn't open till 11am on a Saturday.

Offas Dyke might be worth a look as they shoot the MOD ranges at Sennybridge which isn't that far from you.

Ditto Severnside, been a member there for Seven years years now, it counts as your primary club for your FAC, so you don't need to join another (unless you want to).

Richard Williams is a top guy and runs a very friendly range, always interesting people and firearms there.

Thanks for all the responses everyone. I was worried there weren't gonna be many decent clubs near me but apparently there are! Quite pleased.

Will keep people updated as to which one I join. Thanks again

Offas dyke sounds bloody amazing. They shoot up to 1300 yards including 338 LM and 50 BMG! I didn't realise we were allowed to shoot those in the UK. Ultra long range here I come :)
