Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
I'm sure I saw them on The Sportsmans web site when I was looking round prior to getting my 04 in 2011, not seen one for sale anywhere since, rocking horse poo springs to mind!
There's room for all Gods creatures, next to the mash and gravy :)
Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
Probably
I suppose the Scout and Elite have taken over from the SSG??
I don't like the integrated bipod.
I like rails though!

Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
They were definitely advertised (although that means nothing when you're dealing with Sportsmans  ) as i was contemplating getting a chassis for my 04

Blackstuff,
Can you swap the chassis on an ssg o4 then?
Could you upgrade an 04 to an 08 chassis?

I honestly don't know if you can put the 04 action in an 08. Try emailing Steyr, they were quite helpful when i've had queires in the past

Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
Old school Steyr - SSG69.
Interesting but sad history - bought by a guy years ago who put it in the McMillan stock and zeroed it and then had to give up shooting through ill health.
In storage for a loooooong time and then came to me. I put the AICS compatible bottom metal on it. And the Bradley Arms brake.
So, an oldie but still under 500 rounds through it.

Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
I have the Steyr SSG 69 P1 complete with a ZFM 6x42Z Scope and Q/R rings numbered to the rifle, they are built to last and they even glue the 'scope tube into the rings and use butt spacers to adjust the length of pull. One of my favourite rifles and suitably quirky with a short stroke 6 lug rear locking bolt.

Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
Apparently the very first purpose built sniper rifle rather than a service / sporting rifle converted to suit the role ?
Re: Steyr Mannlicher rifles
I did read that as well. It certainly shoots well and has some very subtle features that make you think wow, that was well thought out.
