Next-Gen Precision-Guided Semi-Automatic Rifles Unveiled

Trackingpoint system now available for semi auto AR platforms, not that we can have them...at $7500 a pop (does that include the rifle) I wonder if many in the US will buy them - but OH, will the press have a field day with their made up hysteria about the system's capabilities and "inevitable use by bad people". Not that bad people will spend $7500 dollars ?

Chuck, from what I remember, the "system" is the rifle, sight and software stuff that goes with it, so you'll be getting the AR. You'll be limited to a single ammunition manufacturer though; I think they said they were going with a specific Federal (?) load as they were the most consistent of the mass-market ones out there.

I could be wrong on that last point though.

Ive had the opportunity to try this in its single shot guise at the NRA centre in the US this summer, shot on both a 338lm and a 300WM.

Interesting concept but it cant read the wind nor can it deal with a target that moves after the shot is released.

Cheers User :good: .

Looking at MiLisCer's comment, I think the money could be better used elsewhere - until such time a self guiding ammo comes along

Self guiding ammo is already available, oomans, utilising tiny reaction jets in the nose of each round to alter course in flight. It's in 40mm calibre and some trials have been done on calibres as small as .338

We don't think it would need to be specified as anything other than "rifle, calibre, action"
