Badger wants an Emily

#1 Post by meles meles »

We'd quite like to add a M.L.E. to our collection of pre-1919 battle rifles, oomans. What ought we to be looking for when we inspect one? What sort of money does a good one, all matching, go for these days?

A 1915 No1 Mk3* BSA would be my choice however they are quite thin on the ground these days.

Oh indeedy, though they were only ever called Long lees after the SMLE (smelly) was introduced: afore that they were simply, Rifle, Magazine, Lee Enfield, or MLE, hence Emily...
