Service Rifle shoot, open invite
I will be organising a Service Rifle themed range day in April at Bisley. It will be open to all LMRA members and members of affiliated clubs.
We will be shooting at 200yds using Fig 11 targets (or the PC equivalent). There will be a full 4' screen target available along with snap targets with relatively gentle exposure times.
Rifles are whatever you want to bring - modern, historic, British, foreign, feel free.
I will give the markers a couple of set practices to follow for the snaps but otherwise the format is pretty flexible.
The idea is to get a group of likeminded folk together to (hopefully) form a SR/CSR group at the LMRA. It's as much about the shooting as figuring out what people like and want to do more of.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome.Date TBC but likely to be a Sunday towards the end of the month. The cost will be split between attendees so hopefully won't break the bank.

Why can you not make it open to all NRA members as well as Lmra? You will get more people that way.
Re: Service Rifle shoot, open invite
Given the remarkable level of interest so far (cough cough) I might go back and ask if that's possible.

We'd definitely be interested in trundling along and popping a few rounds downrange from our Noise Magnets, P14 and K31...

That's the one Maggot - just a chance to get together, make some noise and some holes, and have a pint or two afterwardsMaggot wrote:For them that were worried about shooting against the likes of Steve E.....I dont see the word "Competition" there either which will please quite a few...is that right Gaz?

I'm thinking I'll book this for Sunday 19th April, unless there's something major I don't know about that clashes with it.
Re: Service Rifle shoot, open invite
Right - after some slight miscommunication with the LMRA, the day will be going ahead thanks to Brunel University TSC.
It is now an open invite to any member of a Home Office Approved rifle club. Please bring proof of membership and a competency card with you.
Only people who've PM'd me for my email address to register attendance will be welcome (I need a solid list so I know whether to expect just the one lane's worth of firers or if I need to hire out several). BYOB - er, rifle and ammo.
Course of fire for the snaps to follow this evening when I've had time to bodge something together.

I wish I had something like a no. 5 for this... I'd definitely be up for it! I'd love to do something like this!
