progressive type press
Hi I've recently seen the Dillon reloading press and was very impressed by it.I done some checking and was told it is not useable for 6.5x47.do yous know of a similar set up that is compatible with the 6.5x47 round.thanks
Re: progressive type press
Which model? ...and why was it not suitable?
The 550 may be usable. ..as long as there is a shellplate to match the case head.

Re: progressive type press
Some quick research suggests that, depending on the press, you can specify .260 Rem, or .308 Win with a smaller powder funnel.nearly there wrote:Hi I've recently seen the Dillon reloading press and was very impressed by it.I done some checking and was told it is not useable for 6.5x47.do yous know of a similar set up that is compatible with the 6.5x47 round.thanks
I see that a Dillon trim die in 6.5 x 47 is available from CH4D.
Give Dillon a call, they are very helpful. Brian Enos is another good and helpful source (but not for export orders), and his Dillon forum is full of knowledge of the platform.

Re: progressive type press
Anything from Dillon is good, with excellent after sales/ customer service. Check their website or call them re specifics.
I have had a 450 press for about 40 yrs! Only prob was the Perspex hopper tube cracked. I asked about replacement cost from US and received two FOC. Can't complain about that

Re: progressive type press
Hi it's the xl650 model I looked at but was told the 6.5x47 is not compatible.although a 240 shell plate may convert it.
Re: progressive type press
Who told you that? As far as the shell plate is concerned, my understanding is that the case head is identical to .308 Win, in which case there is no way you should have an issue on the basis of the shellplate. You should get your information from the authority: Dillon.nearly there wrote:Hi it's the xl650 model I looked at but was told the 6.5x47 is not compatible.although a 240 shell plate may convert it.

Re: progressive type press
I am about to start using an XL650 for part of my 6.5x47 reloading and am not expecting any issues.
Re: progressive type press
I don't want to say anything about names but it it was from a retailer
Re: progressive type press
Call Dillon direct. Their customer service is superb.
Worth checking Double Alpha Academy if buying a press. The pound is strong against the Euro now.
