Deer Stalking… reliable word of mouth recommendation from someone you know has undertaken such stalking being offered by a specific syndicate is best. Like other walks of life, stalking has its scammers. E.G., make sure there is deer, of the species sought, on the land being made available; that appropriate insurance is in place; that there is recourse for recompense if it all goes wrong. In addition, obtain and understand terms and conditions; consider the implications of allowing a syndicate leader to be a FAC mentor; make sure ‘coaches’ are suitably qualified; consider the quality of deer management, the construction & execution of a shooting plan and safety; determine if the land is over-shot.

If in doubt, contact BASC or similar.

Do you ever watch Matt Hayes fishing on TV? He was in either France or Italy fishing for carp with actual fresh strawberries a while ago, they were going mad for them.

He tried a few things (Including pasta) which makes me think it was Italy before trying just plain strawberries, from memory it was on a hair rig or similar. The Carp were on them in a flash. The thing I like about Matt Hayes is you get to see some nice parts of the UK and I have watched a whole hour of him where he did not even get a bite yet it was still enjoyable. Unlike that pompous Wilson idiot.

Did you know Matt has a Law Degree?

I wouldn't hold it against him. :D

It was after watching one of his programmes that I decided to get a little bit inventive with baits and chucked some sweetcorn in a bag with some korma mix overnight and then went out at 4am the next morning and caught this beauty in the Basingstoke Canal at Odiham Wharf. I never made a note of it but I believe it was around 5 3/4lbs. You'll have to excuse the lack of an unhooking net. This was back in 2005 when soft grass was still considered good enough.

How do you guys do the inline image thing? I've got somewhere to link from I just don't know how to put the URL in.
