Recommend me some Moleskins FOR SHOOTING!

#1 Post by ovenpaa »

I need some Moleskins for the coming season, I was thinking of the Hoggs of Fife offerings however I thought I would just check, they need to be smart, practical and ideally true to size as buying on-line is far more appealing than heading off to the likes of Louth or Market Rasen.

Thoughts anyone?

IMO Australian RM Williams 15oz are the very best moleskins pants money can buy. The are smart looking & incredibly tough. I still wear a 15 years old pair I used to go skiing, rough shooting, boar hunting in Poland by minus -15/20 & riding with. Beside being expensive, the only down side is, once wet, they take for ever to dry.

http://www.ahume.co.uk/ those guys stock them & are very good sellers.

Have a look at Mole Hole - http://www.themolehole.co.uk/

They will make to measure in the colour and style of your choosing and if you want them tight/loose/baggy it can be done too.

Thank you for the link Polchraine, I have placed an order with Samuel Windsor to see how I get on with them over the next few months however given my size made to measure is probably the best option.

No problem, I bought from them a few years back and still going strong!

They are at a few fairs this summer, if you happen to be there: http://www.themolehole.co.uk/shows.html

I also wanted some moleskin's and Badger's recommendations arrived this afternoon :good:

I am getting a little portly with age and ordered a pair one size larger than I would normally..42 instead of 40..they are a perfect fit and certainly look well made.

Thanks for the recommend!
