Rear Shooting Bags

I've used a combination of the below bags. The rear Caldwell bag is weird, I don't understand why the underside is a triangle and not flat. However, the way I use it makes it nice to hold. I support this bag with my off-hand to get a good shoulder position. It's a pretty solid position. The front bag and shape to mould around the rifle. This way the rifle will slide backwards and not sideways etc.

The Brownell rear bag is a nice cheap option too. I stuffed plastic bags with sand into the bag which allows me to squeeze it to get a nice position when needed.

I use a mixture of the above depending on what rifles I'm shooting. Some have a high rear stock which needs a higher rest while others have a low rear stock and need a lower rest. Experiment to see what works best for you.

Cut the arm off an old Dpm smock sew one end up, insert a plastic food bag as a liner fill with half a kg of rice, seal the bag and sew up the other end.
Job done

Don't laugh but I was reading through a post on The High Road where a user was discussing the use of rice as a substitute for corncob/wallnut tumbling media. There was a user who stated that he had a degree in Agricultural Engineering and seemed to be quite serious about his rice.
