Or at least they want the money to spend on it, which would more than likely be squandered in the same way as various failed computer systems and unified databases over the years.

Sometimes the Police have solid information , but they fail to act on it .

I can recall one force that did not revoke a FAC even though the holder had several CCJ's and was on first name terms with the Court Bailifs .

And another force who took no action even though the FAC holder and his business partner had attempted to blackmail another shooter into withdrawing evidence he had given to a Court .

Ryan was a bit "odd", but that's the extent. Bird had nothing to all intents and purposes. A wee brush with the law that got him a caution, but nothing for decades after.

Utterly despicable the way the senior officers of Central Scotland Police, as it was then, allowed Hamilton to possess firearms. ACC McMurdo and the then MP, Lord Robertson, need some serious investigation into their motives and circumstances of the "relationship" they had with Hamilton.

So is this where all the recent scaremongering regarding the proposed banning of SGC Lever-release + MARS rifles has come from?
If so, with Scotland instigating their own laws (such as Air-Weapons licensing), will this still affect England and owners of these rifles South of the Boarder ?
