Re: Marlin rifles
Have a decent reference book on them, published by a couple in the USA that specialise in Marlin accessories
Website is Havlin Sales. The site has details of the book they wrote. Very detailed....I'm almost tempted to sell my copy but I'll keep it handy as it was not a huge outlay but is worth a space on the shelf.
They seem to be iffy about exporting ANYTHING from the USA, even a book, so it may be easier to find a copy online elsewhere

William S Brophy's work is regarded as the "Marlin Bible". It was published in 1989 and hasn't been updated as Brophy is dead. There are however a number of articles that have been published in Harris' Guns of the Old West, but sadly that magazine closed last year.
The Marlin Collectors Association and Marlin Owners.com have a wealth of information on there and some of the members were career employees of Marlin. But tread carefully about the Remington take-over, some of those guys are still rightly very pi$$ed off!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: Marlin rifles
A big plus 1 for the Brophy book, a little out of date now but covers everything before the 90's. very useful and informative.
