Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group minutes
Anyone else noticed that there have been no minutes published from the FELWG since March 2015, well that's because;
"Dear Blackstuff
We do not publish the Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group minutes. While I am aware this was done by our predecessor ACPO, when the NPCC was formed we created a new publication scheme based on legislation and best practice. The NPCC has several hundred working groups, it would therefore be impractical to publish these minutes.
I will make some enquiries to see if I can provide them on an if asked basis and get back to you shortly.
Kind regards
Luke Mackenzie
Business Support Officer, National Police Chiefs’ Council"
I have therefore just emailed BASC to see if they will now routinely request, publish and hold a record of the minutes for us to be able to read. I have also asked if the FELWG are in fact required to publish a public copy of the minutes.
Considering whats been going on since the last minutes I think its pretty important that we find out what they're contemplating, especially in regard to the 'EU gun ban plan'.

What was that "nothing to hide" quote again............?????
Dubious, very dubious - they should cut down on the number of talking heads then!

I think I have all of the published minutes to the meetings to March 2015 here: http://shootingshed.co.uk/wp/category/felwg/
If you find any more I will be interested.

Formed? Does Mr McKenzie not mean when they just ordered new headed stationary? I christened them (despite a dubious journalist taking credit elsewhere, I believe) on here, Continuity ACPO, for good reason....Blackstuff wrote:when the NPCC was formed we created a new publication scheme based on legislation and best practice.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

BASC not interested and the response from them was borderline rude
The only helpful information in their response was that you can obtain them under a FoI request. Brilliant(!)

Our representative organisations seem to prefer a reactive rather than proactive approach....

Re: Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group minutes
The re-organisation of ACPO into Continuity ACPO has given them a great advantage to change their rules to subvert transparency. I am sure we are not the only ones to be disadvantaged by these cowboys.
Re: Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group minutes
There's always something iffy about opaque private companies shrouded in secrecy and impersonating police officers who change their name to become even more opaque.....

Re: Firearms and Explosives Licensing Working Group minutes
I've finally found someone who has copies of the minutes! He's sent me a copy of the September 2016 meeting (which he probably shouldn't have as they're not normally released until they're agreed at the following meeting, which isn't until next month). That still leaves the April 2016 minutes unaccounted for but they're supposedly all going to published on the NPCC website shortly - where've I heard that before
.
Anyway, there's some interesting stuff in there regarding the EU gun grab, Policing and Crime Bill etc etc. Unfortuantely my computer hates this website and won't let me attach the file (Word document). Could some public spirited person who can add them here PM me their email address so I can send it over.
Cheers
