Eotech 552

#1 Post by hobbesy »

I've seen an Eotech on Stalking directory which I like the look of.

Simple question, how can I tell if it's real or not?

Thanks

1. Ask seller for the serial number.
2. Get in touch with EOTech and provide serial number.
3. Ask them to confirm if it is legitimate.
4. ????
5. PROFIT!

It is about the going rate but you could get SH ones even cheaper, at least pre-Brexit straight from the US. The 552 are not deemed cool enough but personnaly I like the fact they take AA bateries better, so I am very happy with mine .

Eotechs can be picked up for little money these days. Yves alludes to not being fashionable, but the truth is, they fail. They fail to maintain a zero when the ambient temperature that they are zero'd at, changes either when at the range, or operationally. Even when the ambient temperature returns back to that at which the sight was first zero'd, the scope does not return to its zero'd position.

The US military reported a zero movement of 4moa. Eotech have acknowledged this. Some users in both the military and civilian or law enforcement have reported a loss of zero to upto 20moa! Eotech have denied this, but have offered a refund program via their site.

Eotech lost in renewing their contract with the FBI, which has gone to Aimpoint.

What you putting it on? You're all "glassed up" aren't you?
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

And me.

The fakes generally have red and green recticle whereas the real is red only with a circle comprised of multiple dots.

A little known fact; Bushnell made a proper laser version that was half the price. I've got one of those as well.

Hobbesy have you ever looked through an Eotech?

One word of warning if you have an astigmatism & don't wear glasses/contacts to correct it you will get a fuzzy ghost image of the reticle.

I've had 512 on my .22 Ar for several years & it's never lost zero, even in freezing conditions.
