Yes, but you're into another level price wise, and if your life depended on it, I'd agree with those choices....

... however, for plinking or competition at 25 - 50m, something low to medium price range will be perfectly suitable, and use the spare £hundreds on more ammo or bolt-on goodies.

Fair point price will always come into it, personally I buy the best I can afford & would sooner save for the best than settle for a cheaper bit of kit that I may end upgrading in the future any way.

I bought a aimpoint m4 the other day and compared it with a cheap bushnell red dot and can't compare them ! The glass is so much clearer quality dot etc however I have noticed something I wear contact lenses that also correct for Astigmatism yet even with wearing the contact lenses and looking at the dot it's never perfectly round ! I did take a photo of the red dot and Its a perfect circle so it's my eyes

Ive been having a gander at the Aimpoints and the Vortex sights online.
I was planning on adding a 3X magnifier too but the cost of the Aimpoint one is £700+
Is there really that much of a difference with the glass that the Aimpoint Mag is worth the extra over an £80 Mag?

It's about dot size, clarity and retaining zero.
For that reason, I also vote Burris Fast Fire III. I had one on a SIG522 for three years and it never let me down.
I also have one on my BR99 shotgun (with a 30MOA rail) and it has performed very well so far.

For speed of use and reasonable cost, it is hard to beat that Burris.

Zero is the big one. I have an Eotech Replica Paperweight sitting on my desk at home, and for anything more than a paperweight it's useless.

It is UN-Zeroable. There is soo much backlash on the threads that it literally jumps 5 inches at 25 yards, it will not get close. I think I got it within 3 inches once, and then by the end of the session it was further away.

Go with the aforementioned brands... i wish i had instead of wasting my money. Looks nice, does nothing well.

This reminds me, i still need a sparc or something similar myself...
