The nearest are Pickering and Killingholme. Pickering has a private and very pleasant woodland 300 yard range near the town used on Sundays April to October and with a more limited programme November to March. Killingholme is on an old wartime airfield in South Humberside with a 30M fullbore range plus something different for 22s and pistol calibre leverguns. Both share in the YRA bookings for one or two days per month on the MoD Strensall ranges just north of York for 300/500/600 yard practice days. Pickering's membership is currently full and the club has just instituted a waiting list for would-be members; can't comment on Killingholme.

There is Hensall (just to the north of the M62 next to Eggborough power station) which has .22 and pistol calibre rifle on 25, 50 metre ranges and also has a 100 yard facility which used to be .22 only (but there were plans to upgrade it to pistol calibre cartridges which might have been implemented since I was last there).

Further west are Mattersey in north Notts, Paul Lane near Mirfield in W Yorks (100M + indoor), Lydgate RC at Deer Hill (outdoor 100-500 yards) on the Pennines west of Huddersfield and Diggle over in Lancashire on the western slopes of the Pennines. PSSA (Diggle) has the best facilities and widest choice of disciplines with 100 to 1,000 yard outdoor ranges, over 100 comps pa and a mix of covered benchrest and open grass firing points. It is a long way from the east coast though - I live just outside York and it's exactly 60 miles door to door for me.

There is also a rifle club in Hull. I don't know what their local facilities are - they're one of the Yorkshire clubs that use the YRA Strensall bookings for longer distance fullbore shooting.
