Halodin, apologies I was thinking of the proposed legislation as a whole. However even in regard to magazine capacity the eu have got a bee in their bonnet and have also had ample time to drop it, so I'd guess they'll still pass it. As for the member states, they've all had ample opportunity to amend the proposal, so again I'd say it'll go through the eu parliament in some form, but remain to be seen to what extent it is eventually enforced.
I quite agree we have strict firearm regulation, I'd also agree its enough, however the antis will always want more.

Are you familiar with the bureaucratic process the firearms directive will follow? If so, which hurdles have already been cleared and what milestones are left before this becomes a living EU directive?

Evening, i'm not conversant with the process, but have followed it since it was introduced last year, written to both my mep and mp. Also followed some of the debate links posted. In the early stages there was considerable negative response from some member states, this seems to have waned and the lack of an impact study to me suggests that a lot of drivel will be pushed through regardless. Obviously this is all my own opinion.

Thanks. I wasn't aware the member states had stopped protesting. How naive of me to assume we were well represented... I wrote to my MP and MEP as well, perhaps it's time for a follow up conversation. It's never too late to be disruptive.

It was not so much that there was no objections in the last video recording of the last session that I watched( 6th dec), more that the depth and reason arguing against the proposals seems to have gone. There seems to be a determination to wrap things up. However it will be interesting to see the final draft.

So for an ordinary S1 FAC holder such as myself, the only restriction I will face is not being able to attach a magazine greater than 10 rounds to my S1 shotgun?

So if European states still have semi auto centrefire why are we still not allowed even though we were /are a part of this merry go round?

If its a Euro "law" then surely thats good enough for us too.

What do you call....
A ban of dangerous semi-automatic firearms. These include automatic firearms transformed into semi-automatic firearms, long semi-automatic firearms of length less than 60cm, long semi-automatic firearms with loading devices of more than 10 rounds, and short semi-automatic firearms with a loading device of more than 20 rounds.


Plus there is a bit further down that says about 21 rounds fitted without reloading etc
