One thing I have noticed a few times with Lincolnshire is the 'out of normal hours' contact I have from our FEO, he often rings on a Sunday morning, leaves a message if I miss him and answers first ring when I call back. We have also had contact late in the evening so I would educe he is cracking in some long hours to keep up with things.

Some of the Met Police staff work evenings and weekends - it give them a better chance of speaking to you or visiting and thus makes them more productive. And, as I understand, building up extra hours to get an extra day off each week or two.

One company I know, had a team manning an office from around 07:00 to 18:00 every day with some arriving for opening and departing early afternoon and the others arriving late morning and working through. They offered the staff the opportunity to work the full 11 hours in exchange for a full day off each week - they jumped at it and efficiency also went up.

Got my FAC last week, before the old one expired, originally put in last November I think. I did emailed them and received a response from someone at TVP who worked the late shift four days a week.

my last variation took just under 3 weeks, although it was a straight 1-4-1

One-for-ones usually take 1-2 weeks because they are done at HQ without any input from the FEO.

Proper variations, where you are adding to your existing slots were still taking months the last time I put in for one, so when quoting timescales please be clear about whether it's a variation or a one-for-one so we can get a proper idea of whether things are improving or not.

I applied to TVP for a variation two weeks ago and yesterday emailed one of the Senior Enquiry Officers to ask if they had received it.

I got a reply at 9pm last night to say it was being processed.

Credit where it's due, after their recent problems that's pretty good.

Being processed ... they have received it and it has been added to the 10/15/20 week tray!

Absolutely not. He phoned me at 7pm this evening for the interview then said it was all OK and as soon as I get my FAC back to them they will reissue it.

Eh "returned forms" whats that all about then? Never had it happen to me and I've filled out dozens and dozens of variation forms, (mainly for my Dad as he is always wanting something else). They are much simpler than they used to be.

Just got a variation back from Cheshire for an extra Sec. 1 shogun and it only took a week (wasn't a 1 for 1).
