CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THESE STRIPPER CLIPS?

#1 Post by Dark Skies »

I've found a big bag of these things in my shooting related clutter.
They are 5.56 / .223 so I'm guessing I bought a load of ammo on them yonks ago.
However they do not fit into the feeding spoon designed for regular milsurp stripper clips for my Southern Gun Speedmaster mags. They are noticeably thicker.

They are polymer or more likely glassfibre. The only markings on the back are:

>PBT - GF < KTI 5

Sometimes the last digit is different - for example: >PBT - GF < KTI 6

There is a circular stamp with 07 on a lot of them. On others 08 These could be a year of manufacture perhaps.

I'm thinking they might be for use with an H&K 5.56 chambered weapon but that's just a guess.

Anybody out there know what they are really for?

Definately 5.56 strippers but designed to be used with these loaders not the old metal spoons.

As above, I've got some and use them with the Themold loader in Dans picture. They work much better than the metal/sprung ones

I have a feeling they are used with FNM 5.56x45 ammo but I may be wrong. As Dan says they are used with the placky quick loaders. there are also a flatter, wider black offering.

Deffo 5.56 though.

Thanks everyone. Very helpful. I looked into getting hold of one of the Thermold Loaders as I've got sixty of the clips.
However, seems the easiest route for getting one is Brownells and with Int. shipping on top it comes to £20
Bit extravagant for something I don't really need - I have plenty of the steel clips and a few spoons.
I'll probably sell them on.

If you look on EBay, search SA80 speed loader, they are available for less than £10.

They came on Ruag (IIRC) ammo issued for training purposes that did the rounds about 10 years ago.
Arming the Country, one gun at a time.

Good deals with Paul101, Charlotte the flyer, majordisorder, Charlie Muggins, among others. Thanks everybody.
