I'm spending loads on shooting and .........................

If its not buying guns its buying ammunition. If its not buying those items its buying stuff shooting related that "I need" such as cleaning stuff, gun vice, reloading stuff etc.
I thought fishing was expensive but this is taking the p!ss :D
I can sense the wife is quietly boiling and and one more flippant "necessary" gun related purchase could see her safety valve blowing which will then hamper the further 2 pending gun purchases.
The kids are not helping either by saying such things as "do you know how much me dad paid for that XXX" even though I'm putting much bribery and sweeteners their way to keep quiet wtf
So lads and lasses, whats the best way of getting what I want without a skirmish developing O:-)

Have Mrs Gazza take up the sport.

Mrs Hrun shoots and I can justify pretty much anything as long as she gets one too :-)

As someone who doesn't have a lot of money to blow on shooting but loves the sport and new shiny stuff not spending all the household budget can be a problem. How about a monthly allowance that both you and your better half find reasonable, also buying 2nd hand is always a great option if you don't mind waiting.

This! I try to do this, but honestly haven't really stuck to it as I am an impulsive buyer at times... What it has allowed me to do though is have the cash stashed to one side to offset what I may have spent. I put some of my monthly wage into the work's Credit Union for shooting related expenses. The idea was originally to help me save for a 9mm leaver release, but I keep dipping into it for other shooting purchases. I've since said no more buying firearms until we are married. troutslapping

So, you could have a monthly allowance but only you knows what you have in your cabinet as the wife and kids aren't allowed access... :good:

Buying second hand is always an option its just that the items I like very rarely come up second hand or they are new to the market and I cant resist O:-)

I used to spend a fortune on Pike fishing, then spend an even bigger fortune on unnecessarily fast cars and thought shooting would be a cheaper hobby!!!......on the plus side my Mrs thinks I've got one rifle with six different stocks! :p

My wife wouldn't have a clue how much any of my kit costs - I'm sure there'll be some bargains on Ebay when I eventually shuffle off. Keep you eye out - you might see a half decent scope or two come up for £40 :)
