How about a straight-pull forum in general, that way all straight-pull owners are catered for.........Surely it would have more relevant to more people than say the Emergency Planning sub-forum.

No it's OK they are included as well.

Also rumour as it there will be a pistol caliber version by a different manufacturer coming soon!

I think the Administrates have stopped listening and will let this thread fizzle out. Shame as there were far more supporters than stick in the MUDs.

Perhaps those who support even just out of principle could contribute to the thread.

I did ask Admin several years ago about this very subject of a straight pull forum, I was told those rifles are covered in Fullbore Rifles section.
I wonder how many members on FB own a straight pull rifle I do know members that have several in their cabinets, so my guess a fair few.

I'd like to see another section as discussed by others in this thread.

I would say there are more than enough members with straight-pull/lever release/MARS/post-'45 actions etc to justify a seperate sub forum rather than posting about them in the fullbore rifle section.Three of my rifles are straight-pull and from the pm's I receive there are plenty of other owners on here that would use such a forum section.

Recat:
Let me start by saying that I don't like black rifles. Never had a plastic gun and never will. But as a fellow shooter I will defend your right to own and shoot one if that rings your bell. If we all liked the same things it would be a boring old World. So long as whatever you shoot is legal and safe then there should be room for you on any firing line. We have enough enemies outside of the shooting community without fighting among ourselves.

You could apply "pretendy" to almost every firearm if you were so displaced. Redcat hits nail firmly on head. Keep this up and it'll be in GoM.... ;)

Personally, I think the number of sections is sufficient as is. It is not as if "AR"'s/Straight Pulls cannot be discussed in the forums provided (within the rules). If you create a seperate section you would detract from the presently healthy Rimfire section if the 22 versions were moved there.

You cannot pander to everyone's tastes. You end up with a very clumsy forum in which you can get lost by the shear number of sections. Take a look at Marlinowners.com as a prime example. It is overly segmented and you can easily miss interesting topics that you might find relevant or interesting because superficially it's not one of your chosen sections you usually visit.
