Lock but never delete policy ?

As I understood it, there was a "lock but never delete" policy here ? I remember asking for a thread I started to be removed and was given that answer.

Yet, when I tried to view Maggots farewell post ( cached I guess ) I got an error message telling me I did not have permission to view it - then it disappeared ?

Just curious why ?

it's always interesting when the question about a post is longer than the post itself? If you wanted to know more about the post you could ask Chris himself, he decided to leave the forum (again) and did so with a "bye bye^ message. Is it the end of the world if that was removed to prevent another endless to and fro thread?

It was not because of who it was or the subject - as I said, in the past I asked for a thread to be deleted and was told it was against policy.

Hence my question - no other reason.

then perhaps you should have asked the question via PM rather than trying to put pressure on by making it a public question ?
