Signed but not hopeful - especially as there is no good reason for none shooters to sign it.

To be honest I'm not sure I agree with the entire petition...."allow everyone to own any firearm. "...?!?!

That doesn't happen even in the US....

I agree.
I'm all for the idea of a well crafted petition based on sound reasoned argument. I'd sign that.
However, I think petitions as per the current example do a lot more harm than good. They come across as some chav wanting firearms just because. They make us all sound dodgy. One even wonders if that is the real intention behind it. A Trojan Horse.

My wife always used to say inside me there was an American trying to get out (I had a reply for that but this is the family friendly section. :) ) but even i wouldn't want guns for everyone. Everyone? Convicted criminals? Nutters? People with questionable associations? I don't think so.

Petitions are cr@p. There's only one way to get pistol shooting back within the UK mainland, and that is a seriously funded and determined program of lobbying. It means positive PR and a single voice for shooters. Never going to happen, accept it. You don't have to like it, but, you need to face it.

Our best chance was missed, the 2012 Olympics. Shooting disciplines are far too fractured with a definite pecking order and with "representatives", the likes of the tw@t Yardley, we're on a hiding to nothing.

If you honestly can't live without pistol shooting then try the alternatives. Muzzle loading and percussion revolvers. Even long barrelled. You can even go section 7 or stores pistols over seas. Damn, you could even relocate to Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands!

But seriously, anyone starting an on line petition "give everyone pistols back", has no grip at all in the reality...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!
